Overview
This years renewal of the Moyglare Stud Stakes looks a good one but does look to be between two exciting fillies, this overview and prediction will show evidence of why one may have an edge in the race. COMPOSING and VENETIAN SUN will look to go head to head in this race with VENETIAN SUN hoping to keep her unbeaten record. Aiden O’Brien has had great success in this race and won it numerous times and has a great chance to win it again this year as he has 3 of the 7 runners in this race. COMPOSING will be his main chance and heads the market at 11/8, she has been perfect since her 5th on debut and can make this her 4th win in a row.
BEAUTIFY and PRECISE are the other runners for Aiden O’Brien. They are both lightly raced and could be open to further progress here and should not be discounted as they both have entries in future group 1 races and must be well regarded. SUZIE SONGS is the sole runner for G M Lyons who has Colin Keane in the saddle, however, she was outclassed by COMPOSING last out and it’s hard to see that form reversed here. PIVOTAL ATTACK is the inly runner for Joseph Murphy and was a readily winner last out but would still need to improve a fair bit in order to take this one.
COMPOSING VS VENETIAN SUN
It’s sure to be a good battle between these two and these both look like the most likely winners of the race so it’s important to see who might just have the edge over the other.
COMPOSING – Has been very well backed in all her races and its common knowledge that the lads think highly of this filly as Aiden stated ‘She’s the making of a lovely filly’ . She has ran here 3 times and has been good on all occasions and so the track is not a concern and may even play into her hands. She won a group 3 in good to yielding ground impressively and so a bit of juice in the ground isn’t a worry either. In fact her dam EPONA PLAYS has good form over soft and heavy conditions and so the soft ground that is expected on Sunday should not be an issue. She likes this trip and could improve even further and so looks like the most probable winner.
VENETIAN SUN – Unbeaten in all 4 runs and she just won a group 1 in her recent outing in France by beating the highly talented GSTAAD. She has a higher official rating than COMPOSING, a higher RPR and hasn’t lost yet. However, she has only ridden on ground no worse than good and there’s no real indication that 7f will be her best trip. She should still be very competitive here but could be found out by COMPOSING on a track she’s not used to with conditions and trip that may not suit her.
